E-Governance for the Department of Electrical Inspectorate
The Department of Electrical Inspectorate oversees critical safety and regulatory functions, including the licensing of electrical contractors and the approval of electrical installations. Historically, the process for applying for permits, licenses, inspections, and renewals was complex, requiring numerous physical visits to department offices, extensive paper documentation, and long processing queues. This manual system was a major source of public frustration and severely hampered the department's ability to operate efficiently.
Netroxe was engaged to undertake a complete service automation project, shifting the entire operation to a modern, accessible e-governance platform named Samraksha. The core objective was to make the department's services transparent, seamless, and available online 24/7.
Our team developed a secure, centralized web portal designed for three main user groups: citizens, licensed contractors, and department staff. We meticulously mapped out all existing workflows—from initial application and fee payment to inspection assignment and final license issuance—and rebuilt them digitally.
Key aspects of the implementation included:
The launch of the Samraksha Portal has revolutionized public service delivery. It has achieved near-total service automation, drastically reducing the turnaround time for essential regulatory functions. Citizens and contractors now benefit from full transparency, being able to track their application status in real-time. Crucially, through the mobile app, users receive real-time notifications about the status of their application, bringing immediate updates directly to their devices. For the department, the platform has created a structured, auditable, and highly efficient digital environment, successfully meeting the goals of modern e-governance and setting a new standard for public service accessibility.
